hardware works out v expensive. So I see a GPS called Road Angel
Adventurer
7000 looks like would provide what I want...I could use my existing
Memorymap software (I think) and a little circle would show exact
location....but again damned expensive.
Any advice appreciated.




I have a cheap Garmin. No maps. But it gives the grid ref and distance
walked, horizontal and vertical current and average speeds.

Why do you say "this is not possible"? Maybe you mean accuracy?

I paid £55 on eBay and it's the one which has altitude measurement too.

I'm very happy with it because I use regular maps and just occasionally
the gps for position.

After saying that someone mentioned to me Fugawi software...I'm currently
trying to find out if that would download onto GPS. Any one have info on
this?
