Sorry this seriously way off topic, but I'm having problems getting to
a few of my favourite sites for the past couple of days.
I can't get to http://www.luminous-landscape.com/ or
http://www.oziexplorer.com/
On http://www.dpreview.com/ I can get the text but not the pictures
which seem to live at http://a.img-dpreview.com/
Any ideas?
Ping the site(s) in question from the command prompt (Start, Run, CMD,
enter)
ping oziexplorer.com
you should see something like this:

If that does not get a response you can try flushing the PC's DNS
cache with
ipconfig /flushdns
and try again.
Still no joy try Tracert
tracert oziexplorer.com
If that stalls part way to the site there may be a problem between you
and the site.
If you connect via a router you may need to reboot the router and / or
flush its DNS cache.
Other things to look at are firewall or internet security software that
could be misbehaving.
Good luck.
Different browsers have no effect.
Pings get the result above. But tracert seems to stall or at least get
hung up for a while part way before finding their way there.
I've tried using alternate DNS servers which seemed to solve the
problem of no pictures on DPReview but not get me through to Ozi or LL
I've fushed the DNS cache on the PC, the router doesn't seem to have
the option - it's an old voyager 210 and a "factory reset" and
re-entering all the relevant settings for my ISP (Orange Wanadoo
<spit>) doesn't seem to get me anywhere.
I've just tried changing from PPPoA to PPPoE and all now seens well.
Mystified :-\
