Just went to look at this and I get (in Opera) 'applet not found', but
on
Sun's site the installation of Java is shown as working.
Any idea why - my end or yours? (does look more mine).

It's not rocket science, you know.

I use Opera as default browser and all shows as OK on Phils site.

Version
9.27
Build

Platform
Win32
System
Windows NT 6.0
Java
Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.6

Mine's identical. Just tried some other sites (speed test) that need Java
and they work well.
According to Opera Help, it's not a plugin; Opera uses jre via its path,
so
I've no idea what to do. I'll have a look at urlfilter.ini.

BTW, this can be accessed by typing opera: [space] in the address bar; once
the space is typed there's a drop-down list of things re. Opera.

Shockwave Flashapplication/futuresplash spl
application/x-shockwave-flash swf
C:\Program Files\Opera\Program\Plugins\NPSWF32.dll

Adobe Acrobatapplication/pdf pdf
application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml xdp
application/vnd.adobe.xfd+xml xfd
application/vnd.adobe.x-mars mars
application/vnd.fdf fdf
application/vnd.adobe.xfdf xfdf
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Browser\nppdf32.dll

Shockwave Flashapplication/futuresplash spl
application/x-shockwave-flash swf
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll

Silverlight Plug-Inapplication/x-silverlight scr
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\npctrl.1.0.30401.0.dll

Windows Presentation Foundationapplication/x-ms-xbap xbap
application/xml xml
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Windows Presentation
Foundation\NPWPF.dll

Got most of those; not Silverlight; do have RealAlternative.

Also if you F12 opera it shows the following on my PC:
enable GIF/SVG
enable sound
enable plugins
enable java
enable javascript

Hope this helps.

Jhimmy

I have all of those on the toolbar. JavaScript and Plugins are always on;
Java only when required. Without Java, the page just gives a little
rectangle and with Java there's the large rectangle with 'applet not
found'. All other Java sites are OK.
I'll ask in Opera forums.

Opera help has this on Java

"Opera has embedded Java support. This means we use the Java Runtime
Environment (JRE) directly instead of using the plug-in to run Java
applets. It is not possible to use the Java plug-in with Opera."

Thanks Jhimmy.
