The message <MjcJrnRRZM8HFwlv@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
from Gordon H <Gordon@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> contains these words:
I had a few debates with a work colleague who used to run all over the
Peak district in sweat shirt, and Ron Hills and trainers. I asked him
what if he twisted or broke an ankle, how would he survive without spare
clothing etc.
He grinned and said: "My foot isn't on the ground long enough to twist
an ankle". ;-)
Some time about 1974 I tried to get fit by running on Cannock Chase but
on the second or third visit I managed to land a foot on a pebble and
twisted my ankle badly. It came up like a hens egg and I had some
difficulty returning to my car (only a few hundred yards away) and
driving home. Perhaps I should have asked a passer by to call out the
rescue. :-).

Nearest Marilyn still to be visited - Great Orme.
89 miles as the crow flies,
considerably more as the walker drives.
