In these days of needing a mortgage to brim the tank I've taken to
trundling along at 60 or even the mythical Eddie Stobart speed of 56

staggering. Mind you it helps to have some good music to listen to, I
once had to drive from London to Perth in a Fiat 500 without a
radio...

Would you have been able to hear the radio in a 500?

If it had been an original cinquecento I doubt it, but this was one of
the 90's reincarnations. It went at a fair lick in a straight line but
if you tried to make it go round corners it complained bitterly and
demanded use of the left foot and left hand.
