Is anyone else getting exercised (excuse the pun) over this?

It's taken a while and admittedly the final push has been the
preposterous price of petrol but I've come 'round to the fact
that it really is OK to drive a small car. My wife's Clio is only
a 1.2 and it's great. OK, we may not get to where we're
going as quickly as we do in my thirsty Subaru but we get
there all the same and its better for both the pocket and the
environment. I wish I'd done it ages ago. Now I've just got
to find a buyer for the Scooby. Impreza anyone ? :-)

How fast were you trying to drive? If most of that distance is on the
motorway then it shouldn't make a great deal of difference to the
time, unless you broke the limit by a large amount. Given normal speed
limits and long-distance roads, there shouldn't be much journey time
difference since the extra power in a larger car usually only delivers
better acceleration.
