I have bought a new computer and all my Land's End to John O'Groats
routes are on my old computer. I think (hope?) I transferred the route
files onto the new compter using a programme from Dell called
'Transfer my PC'. But I cannot find the Anquet Maps software on the
new pc so I think that hasn't been transferred, so I think I need to
load it onto the new pc. How do I do this without wiping all my Lejog
files (which took three months to do) Any one? Please? Clueless here!
(And Anquet don't have a phone line to call)
Well first of all, backup all your route files elsewhere.
Secondly, if you check your old computer there should be a folder called
"Anquet Map Data" somewhere, and inside that there's a folder called
"Persistent". This is where it stores all the user data that you create. So
copy and back up the "Persistent" folder.
After you reinstall Anquet, find the new "Anquet Map Data/Persistent" folder
and copy the old one over it. This should restore all your old data. Route
files are different and I believe can be loaded separately.
Please note: the above refers to version 1 of Anquet. If you're using
version 2 they may have changed some of this stuff, so check with someone
who has version 2.
