Actually evolution hasn't worked properly, at least not 'normally', on much of the human race for many centuries now, and the effect is getting more significant recently. Why? .. welfare, charity, prosthetics (e.g. glasses), medicine(s), IVF/Caesarians. Your basic evolution out in the real world would have no truck with any of that .. 'survival of the fittest', except now we have the goal that =everyone= should survive ..
