I don't know if there's a British equivalent but there's a new site with
actual rainfallradar. It's a Dutch site but shows Western Europe.(click on
the Europe pic in the column on the right.
It's raining in the Hebrides, the Borders and (a bit heavy) in mid- and
northern Wales (6am BST)
The Met Office have one

It shows current rainfall and intervals back to 6 hours ago as well as an animation of all the data.
I use it quite regularly to see what's on its way when I'm off out.
