Hi, I'm planning to hike the Appalachian Trail starting in April but need
to get a tourist VISA to get into the U.S. for the 6 months. If someone else
has done this successfully, what did they put under questions 24 and 25:

I've been hiking in the US every year since 1993 (when I thru-hiked the
AT - how time flies). I usually put my hiking partner's address down
and he hasn't told me the boys-in-blue have come knocking. I'm assuming
you've talked to the ATC (http://www.appalachiantrail.org/): there are
generally at least 3 or 4 UK thru-hikers each year, and also other
European nationalities, so the ATC might have some ideas.
Good luck with your hike: you'll have a fantastic time! If you come
across an AT volunteer trail crew (the people who 'mend' & develop the
trail) and there's a Brit on it, it might be me.
