Interesting. Brian Frankle (ULA Packs) was talking, on a recent Podcast,
about gear manufacture in the far east. He was saying that most brands now
have their packs built by only three or so manufacturers. Increasingly the
manufacturers are having a big impact on design, eg. Gregory arms straps
are
popular, let's put some of those on our new pack.

If this is right then maybe this Tesco pack could have some quite
interesting ancestors!

Brian's podcast interview is on the Trailcast, podcast (access via.
iTunes).

Cheers Andy. In the absence of any hands-on opinions of this sac, I think I
might just get one anyway and find out for myself, its not a huge
investment. If other Tesco stuff is anything to go by, some of it is so
cheap that its hard to see how they make a profit on it (but the accounts
suggest that they do!). Whatever the quality, I'm pretty sure the same pack
if sold in some highstreet outdoor shops would be twice, maybe three times
as expensive, so on those grounds, its a bargain already.
