Probably, but they do specifically state; "The detailed map coverage
included in this product is shown below" But they don't actually state
whether the green areas indicate the coverage, or the red boxes. The boxes
are all different shapes and sizes though, and do seem very specifically
shaped, with the numbers not always fitting inside the boxes. Map coverage
areas does usually (always) come with straight edges, doesn't it? (it seems
to on their other products) I'd be surprised if the coverage areas had been
cut to exactly fit the parks. Would they really cut Blaenau Ffestiniog out
of the middle of Snowdonia? (Some might say that it wouldn't be a bad
thing...)

Again, it may just be optimism on my part, but why the strange overlap
between Pembrokeshire and the Beacons? There's absolutely no reason to
extend the red box that far east (way beyond the park), unless it was done
specifically to include the Gower Peninsula, which it does quite precisely,
in much the same way that Anglesey and Lleyn are just included in the
Snowdonia box. But maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Indeed. It would be very inconvenient to have to maintain two separate
versions of Anquet running side by side, with different mapping on each.

I hope this new Data Explorer feature contains some genuinely useful
features. The original Anquet was never designed for GPS, that was added as
an afterthought. I hope they've learned from that mistake and nicked a few
ideas from real GPS software like Ozi. For example, they claim to have
significantly increased the number of available icons. I really hope it's
occurred to them to include the standard icons that actually come with GPS
units, plus the ability to send the correct icons to the GPS. I mean, it
wouldn't take a genius to figure out that it might be useful to do that,
would it?
