It's probably got a small amount of titanium in it, the same way what you
call chrome vanadium steel is less than 1% chrome or vanadium with the vast
majority being the steel part. If I remember correctly 7000 series
aluminium alloy is about 90% aluminium with most of the rest being zinc but
no one tends to mention the zinc, stick 1% titanium in it call it Titanal
and over affluent walkers will pay a fortune for it.
Ofcourse, I spent most of the time I should have spent studying for a
metallurgy degree either in the pub or listening to obscure indie bands in
dingy Sheffield clubs so all of the above might be rubbish.
