I was sick of folk telling me how much power my TV etc burn when on standby, and now I know.

TV = 4w
VCR = 3w
DVD = to low to measure
Digi Box = 8 or 9w

The digi-box is the villain then.....

Bloody hell. We religiously turn the TV off but leave the VCR, DVD and
Digibox on. Are they fairly standard results d'ya think?

No idea, until I casually get my meter out when visiting friends.
Is that your wattmeter in your pocket, or are you pleased to see me?

I will check them all again carefully, I forgot what the Hi Fi receiver pulled.
The TV was only about 54 to 58w when switched on, BTW, varying with volume level apparently.
The LCD screen has tiny letters, so I need a magnifying glass!

I also want to check some of the 'economy' bulbs I've installed all over the house....
