I am not having a go at anyone who wants to visit and record and just look
at the place but it is an accident waiting to happen, it has an open gallery
that people could easily fall off in the dark. It is irresponsible of the
owners not to secure it, especially as they have been notified that it is
open and in a dangerous condition.
It could be the case that of there is an accident there then the owners
could be held liable as they made no effort to secure it. If that was to be
the case they would probably end up demolishing it to avoid another
incident.
The best way to preserve it is to secure it so that others can enjoy it in
the future. I managed to arrange a legal visit when it was still locked so
I'm sure others could do the same. While it would be nice to keep a site
like that open and accessible the reality is that it will attract vandals
and will soon be wrecked and not worth preserving.
I cite Poltimore Park ROC HQ as a prime example, when I first went there it
was in pristine condition. Once it had been left open for a months it was
wrecked and burnt out and now nobody can enjoy it.
