You should try harder perhaps.
I don't think there is any perhaps about it. Children were made to be
embarrassed by their parents (whfg nfx zl ynq).
I'm a bit concerned that so many of the children I know have been
diagnosed with 'mild aspergers' that it is close to becoming
ubiquitious. It would then of course be normal (TM) and should be
removed from medical dictionaries and be replaced by Blogsworthy's
syndrome: a rare condition in which no diagnosis of as-bergers can be
made.
I reckon it's "Oh look, I have a hammer, so clearly everything is a nail".
Unfortunately, I suspect that some of the so-called professionals are
falling into the same trap.
Somebody used that one on me a few years back, with no apparent training,
expertise or explanation (it's the new Mild Social Disapproval ? A round of
one-up for the cosy gathering ?). I worked off the irritation it caused by
having a bounce round the web[1]; and found an article by a pair of
Swedish-named medical peeps claiming that it's all a sexist racket.
Everybody Knows It's A Boy Thing. Which they backed up by noting a number
of thus-diagnosed males, noting synptoms thereof, then finding a large
number of females with the same symptoms and noting the way that nobody
seemed to have considered what seemed to be their first thought with the
males.
Which is not to say it's not a real proper definition of a recognisable
condition. Safe when used as directed.
[1] Doctor, Doctor, is this typical ?
