but you can always whack SP3 on laterer.

ah, but a slipstreamed SP3 installs reasonably fast, whereas SP2-SP3 takes
bloody ages. Not sure if you can go from SP1 to SP3 without doing SP2
first. TAAW the SP3 I've got is a volume license one (no idea whose) which
needeth not a magic number (or it's built-in to the install, for an
unattended stylee thing, mayhap)

Anyhow, the way forward for this one right now seems to be with a USB CDROM.
I may actually acquire such meself, in due course, it sounds like a hfrshy
thing to have.

Should be straightforward, if a USB CD/DVD burner is similar cevpr I'd
buy that for enhanced mightcumminhandyness.

first-go and no hitches from CD drive. Acer have all the drivers available
for download, so bunged them on a CD and puttem on the chamine, installed
and lo! it jbexeth. pretty nippy, too for an ickle one. Put FF3 and TB2 on
it, which I suspect the owner will want, FF3 jbexvat, 'cos I DLed the TB2
installer straight to the netbook over the wireless netjbex here. I reckon
it's going. Also put VLC on, and a flim (The Changeling) to test it with...

I'm almost tempted to acquire one meself... it looks nicely made, as these
things go.

Oh yeah, the other thing I put on was Fantom CD, which means it can have a
mountable-image of the install disc. Partly-overcomes the issue with no CD
drive. See, I could have all the computerised manuals for the motors on
such a thing...
