$DEITY no, he was saying that we should all talk together and understand each other better. That way the Chinese would understand the need for the Tibetans' autonomy and they could still be friendly neighbours.
He was also saying how all other religions have a bit in their good books about being nice to each other and how non believers had a right to non believe and most of them respected and liked the believers anyway.
Very sensible stuff.
And he doesn't half laugh a lot, I saw Michael Palin interview him and I thought it was just MP he was laughing at but he laughs at almost everything.
