From Elsewhere (Aargh)

"hi i bought astra 1.6 16v cd automatic astra last weekend great car
it had
bin standing for a whil as the owner had passed away its onli dun
44000miles
1999 s reg it was gret for the first few days then all of a sudden the
power
stearing failed while i was goin down the road got the car home went
to use
it again next day n the batery lite came on and the stearing kept
hardening
up again but loads of times this time i tok it to a garage they fitted
a new
battery n told me the alternater on it way out and once again the
brand new
batery iscausing the light to come on again does anyone no if it is
just the
alternater or sumthin else oh and iv noticed a tinny noise and there a
really
annoyin whinning noise i cant belive iv onli had the car a weekiv bin

115 just for the alternater and it already cost me 50 pound for a new
battery "

And people don't think standards are slipping?
