What? I hope you explained this to the doctor - ridiculous. We do have
problems with being allowed to discuss results with relatives, but that
is surely taking confidentiality too far.

She seemed ground down by it all, to be honest.

We had an hour-and-a-half practice meeting yesterday, very briefly discussed two patients, then spent the rest on such delightful medical topics as how to code various things on the computer to satisfy the ever-changing requirements for data collection. Deep Joy.

The latest idea is that, because hospitals are being set targets to deal with most problems within a certain time limit, then if someone is unable to come for their op or investigation at the first specified time , they get discharged and when they Can manage it, they have to be re-referred by their GP and go through the system again. A side-effect of this is that the Primary Care Trust will then be billed a second time by the hospital for a seperate "episode".

This is the reality of NHS "Choice", individual bits of the NHS finding as many ways as possible to bill other bits of the NHS for jbex done, while other bits of the NHS try as hard as possible to find ways to stop the patients they have financial control for being sent to the jurisdiction of those other bits of the NHS which can bill them. Joined up government? Patient centred? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah [sniffle].

I went to the polling station, but the only option
given was to vote for one or other of the politicians.
