Bah! I have a real thing about making sure my socks get laundered in
pairs. When I pick them off the floor, I always make sure there are
matching pairs. When I take the stuff out of the washer, I always check
there isn't a stray sock left in the drum. I always hang them up to dry
in pairs.

I make a point of making sure my sock fleet always consists of 15-20 identical socks and then never actually counting them. I can never have more than one odd sock at any one time and I never know anyway so it doesn't bother me!

So how come there are currently 3 odd socks on the airer?
