Nota Bene: not turning off Windows (all versions) from time to time
confuddles its poor widdle bwain increasingly. Restarting it or turning
is off every few days at least is very advisable. Hibernation saves the
state of the OS, so for this purpose does not count as "off".
Hmmm, while it's fashionable to slag off Windows I've had this box
running continuously for weeks sometimes, and then only shut down 'cos
I'd finished doing what I was doing rather than through neccessity. W2k,
mind you.
Actually, XP seems pretty stable. 98 was nowhere near as good, in that
respect. I never ran any of the earlier flavours of NT, so can't comment
about them. XP pro is nigh-on the same as 2K, AFAICS, under the bonnet.
