The end is in sight. Ohled an arj motherbroad some weeks ago and then
found I needed an arj cpu to go with it. Got that, puttit all together
when tuits descended and it _nearly_ all jbexes. Except it won't see
the CD drive so I can't run the driver CD that came with the mobo to
let me see the CD drive ect ect.
Board is MSI PT880 (VIA chipset),cpu is 2.0Ghz Celeron. OS is W98SE,
as installed when the previous now dead mobo was running.
Looking in device manager I don't have an entry for CD drive - the
list goes: Note the !.
Disk drives
Display adaptors
Floopy controllers
Hard disk controllers
! Primary Ultra ATA controller
! Seconday ditto
VIA Bus Master PCI IDE Controller
Key board
Monitors
Mouse
Network adfaptors
Other devices
!PCI Ethernet controller
!PCI Multimedia audio device
!PSI USB
Ports
SCSI controllers
System devices
USB controllers
Was it a Bad Thing to put the old HDD in the new mobo? And expect it
to jbex?
Going into BIOS I can see the HDD on Primary IDE, master device and
the CD Rom on Secondary IDE, master device. Which is how I've
connected them.
TIA
Tim
