Ooh! Might re-install it and try it after all! Then I can run my own

you know?

Yes, seems to work just fine.

Well, I installed v2 and imported my v1.6 file - worked just fine as you
say. The prog seemed to autosave my log into a file called (as far as I
can ascertain) d9.mdb . Certainly just like MS Access, while this file is
open there is a temporary file called d9.ldb hanging around. Pity I was
given no option as to where to save this file or what to call it. Still .
. .

Unfortunately when you get to do anything in v2 you have to enter a
username and password. Heaven knows why, hardly state secrets! Anyway, I
tried opening d9.mdb in MS Access and I was met with a window requiring
me
to enter the database password. So I did - using the same password I had
used in Suunto DM v2 - only to be told this was NOT a valid password and
I'm denied access to my own log! I'm absolutely sure I used the same
password (done just moments before) using the right case. Just to prove
it
I gained access to the data in Suunto v2 using it - but it will NOT allow
me in in MS Access! I tired my username instead, and combinations of
username AND passord- can't get in! Any ideas, anyone?

the access password is built-in in the program, is a standard proceduro to
no let people access the database the passwords/users are stored there,
that could be to not reveal the database structure and give access third
party software

but is only a guess

A very good guess! This may well be the reason it's there. Unfortunately
it's stopping me from gaining full access to my data, and though Suunto may
have the rights to the program (DM v2) the DATA is MINE!! Do they gain
exclusive rights to the interrogation and manipulation of MY data because it
was collated by a system over which THEY have rights? I must email them and
ask!
