Surely, that is letting the bullies win?

I have persuaded the headmistress of our village school to resurrect a
tradition I remember from my youth (1960's) of encouraging Cubs and
Scouts to wear their uniform to school on Saint Georges Day. Question
is; should we extend this to Brownies and Rainbows. My understanding
is that they 'do' Thinking Day in February.
The Boys Brigade abandoned this idea 20+ years ago when kids in their BB
uniforms got attacked for wearing their uniforms by fellow pupils.
Al
I remember saying this to the leader of a BB group in the East End of London
over a similar issue; they had a brand new minibus and I commented on them
not having their name on the side. He said thay the kids practically lay on
the floor when they drove home as it was.
But then, over the past 30 years or more my scouts have loved their scouting
as passionately as they have hated their stupid unforms.
Give all scouts the option of a plain sweatshirt & scarf and free them from
this adult obsession of making them dress-up and feel stupid in front of
their friends.
