OK, so are you doing anything about the changing situation in the UK?
What situation is changing?
The SA may have to declare itself, officially, a religious organisation
to, officially, require members to make a promise with god in it.
I declare myself a religious organisation with a (current) membership
of one (me). I have made the declaration. Where are the 'official
forms/papers' for me to complete?
I'm having trouble with the 'official' bit of your statement above.
'Official' as regards what? Can you 'declare' yourself to be a
religious organisation?
Or it may be required to admit atheists and make it optional.
What about 'maybe nothing will happen'?
Or
any number of other outcomes.
Such as maybe the Catholic Church will be required to admit atheists?
It may end up being a private
organisation
Ah right so it could change into being a private organisation. From
what sort of organisation. i.e. what sort of organisation is it now?
and lose all kinds of government largess.
And those 'kinds of government largesse' are what precisely?
What precisely does the SA get (in largesse) from the UK Government to
run the organisation?
Or it may
end up being a public accommodation.
By 'eck 'nationalised'! Ahead of Northern Rock?
Or something else.
What else?
These
changes may have no effect on membership. Or make it go down.
Or up.
So the changes could have no effect, or a positive effect, or a
negative effect? Any other sort of 'effect' you'd like to plump for?
Not exactly offering an opinion of any sort here are we?
Now, if you want to keep ignoring the conflicts, go ahead.
But ISTR most people on here saying that the 'conflicts' are not
ignored, that it is discussed by the membership.
Things will change (in some way) with or without your influence.
So 'change in some way' could be no change, or change for the better,
or change for the worse? Well you're right 'things' will do one of
these!
But plugging your ears probably isn't the best response.
It probably is the best thing to do when someone is screaming a load
of mischief-making twaddle in your earhole.
Frankly, I like JR find the SS 'submission' quite insulting. I also
find media coverage that is strewn with errors laughable. And, I find
it nauseating to be lectured to by someone who quite clearly doesn't
have all the facts and has little or no experience of what is truly
being debated by members of the SA.
Respectfully, I too will close the door on mischief-makers.
