Agree training should suit the nature of the service - I suspect that the YL
modules wouldn't necessarily be appropriate for campsite service.
But, for those doing there service in a section, fs120303
(http://www.scoutbase.org.uk/library/hqdocs/facts/pdfs/fs120303.pdf), lays
out the SA's requirements for under 18's (be they an Explorer YL or
otherwise) - A+2 for Bronze, A+3 for Silver and A+5 for Gold.
TBH, Module A is quite useful whether they are doing service in a section or
not as good background info. I run it for all in my Unit as I do all the YL
modules - they make good programme fillers and promote good leadership
skills which are useful in life outside Scouting too.
