Clearly, different Scouts have different feelings. When practicing for
this years larger than normal St George's day parade we spent a few
minutes discussing walking in formation of sorts. The majority thought it
was really cool and wanted to continue as an activity for the evening? I
was somewhat surprised.
I'm not that surprised. Footdrill is a remarkably satisfying way of spending
some time. I used to love it - especially doing all the fancy rifle stuff.
Not only does it look good when done well, it is good for teamwork and
discipline.
