That's a damn shame, how often to world class athletes, I mean, the
best at that discipline, come to Ashford? It's a great big travelling
circus, that will almost certainly never in our lifetimes come through
your home town again. And all people can say is "tut, 'spose it means
I can't get to Tesco then". FFS!

and for the crowds watching.... there won't be any
because they can't get here as all the roads are closed.

Oh they will, they reckon 1 million people went to see the TdF last
time it came to the UK. They'll get there before the road closes,
or come by train. They'll be there.
