Going to try
fundraise off the back of it with car parking or bbq or something?
Our hut is a few hundred yards from the route in Ashford.
We can't do anything at all that day that invoves travelling anywhere as the route is closed to all traffic for at least six hours. That's "closed" as you can't go along or cross the roads. Our scout hut & the part of Ashford we're in is effectively isolated from all points north, east & west for the entire day. And effectively isolated from a lot of the people in our group. If we were to do anything "scouty" that day we'd have to start at about 8.30am with no idea of when we could pack up & send the kids home.
As for fundraising.... the locals are all against the Tour de France as all the roads are closed, and for the crowds watching.... there won't be any because they can't get here as all the roads are closed.
....... going to lie down now.......
Charge the public £1 a go to get across. £5 for cars (if you build big enough!)
