Reading the fact*** about the sunrise activities it records that you
may hold it whenever if you are unable to hold it on Wed 1st itself .
I was just wondering what most people/groups were planning to do - use
1st or move it to the weekend.

Especially with Beavers - getting them to attend if parents are at
work could be an issue.

I have to say that last year when my wife and I booked our holiday the sunrise ceremony was the furthest thing from my mind - I had had enough of the Centenary and all the hype.

Now that I no longer have a Warrant and have time to reflect and consider how I feel about things, attending the Sunrise Ceremony has become something I want to be part of. As a result I have been lucky enough to be invited to attend the Ceremony at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, North Island, New Zealand.

According to the information ***, New Zealand will be the first country to see 1st August 2007. It also seems that schools etc are supporting the event by allowing members of Scouting New Zealand time off lessons to attend.

Wherever you are holding your Ceremony, please enjoy the occasion and reflect on the achievements we have all been able to contribute to the legacy of Scouting.
