Agreed but you can run an activity for the unit that can count as part of
teh award. Most YP struggles with one part of the award and that varies
from person to person. Some of mine have absolutly no hobbies that count
for a skill but they wanted a shooting course, which we ran and they
counted that.

If you tell them to organise the skill and activity themsleves most won't
do it, but give them a nudge and it happens.


I agree - but what I was trying to say was it is the members
responsibillity. Leaders and other adults can assist them especially if they
ask for something or you are organising an ongoing activity that will count.
I would hope that if you were running a 6 month skill or activity though
that it would not totally take over your Unit meetings - it should largely
be in addition to.
