Looby,
Any variation is indeed acceptable - so long as there is no 'walking'
in the area; hopping, crawling etc. etc.
Chris,
I guess that could work depending on how stringent the person running
the base wants to be/age group of the participants; is stilt-walking
still 'walking'? I'll withold judgement! ;-)
Nick,
RE: the ice problem; would I be allowed to ask Sir Isacc N.? :-p lol
'thinking' problems and always bug me before any camp etc to set up aFrom expereince, my ESU get a real kick out of completing the
wide game with a treasure hunt/logic problems basis. It gives me a
challenge coming up with different puzzles which then provide the
'next clue' in the trail to the 'prize'. Works kinda like a mini
incident hike, but in the dark, and with 'borders' often based in/
around the camp's grounds.
One particular puzzle which kept them amused for a while was 'locking'
a clue in a re-sealable paint can up a tree, using a combination
lock. To figure out the combination, they had to complete a sudoku
puzzle and use the 'highlighted' numbers to get the numbers which
would open the lock! On beating the puzzle and getting the correct
combination, they could then lower the can to get the clue.
