Re: Rotating venues with an Explorer Unit

Our District Explorer unit rotated around 4 HQ's and the biggest problem was
that parents didn't want to take them to the other HQ's apart from the local
one, so in effect theunit became 4 units with one name

Needless to say it has now folded

Does anyone have practical experience of rotating venues with an
Explorer Unit?

We are having to move venue due to the closure of the Group HQ we had
been using, and the suggestion of rotating has come from a few of the
Scout leaders. Their reason is along the lines of Unit visibility
within our catchment Troops.

My big concern is confusion over where the Unit is on any week (we all
have had experience of paperwork not being read!), coupled with a
danger of it becoming a regular "helping hand" to some Troops if the
timing coincides, to the detriment of the Unit programme.

So, has anyone made it work?
What are the general experiences?
