It would be interesting to hear from others what sort of delays they
are experiencing. I received a couple of CRB forms on sunday, one for
a kayak instructor and one for a powerboat driver, there were a couple
of errors on the forms I need correcting and then I can send them off.
My worry is that at the rate we are going they won't actually be
invloved in activities until April 2008 as a six month delay puts us
in september and if we have a cold autumn we won't be on the water. So
there is a real possibility that I get 2 really keen people who want
to help but won't be allowed to for another year! In the mean time
they will find something else to volunteer their time for.

Is it still taking six months where you are? I would have thought that
the time would have been similar anywhere in England in which case it
could be up to four months based on current processing.

It is now possible to track online the form's progress whilst at CRB.
Experience would tend to suggest that the longest part is the local
police check for an enhanced disclosure. That could very well vary by
locality but other factors as well.
