I have long realised that Scout Troops attract kids who, in general
are attracted to the way the Leader runs the Troop. If I were a

Troop. However, I'm not, I'm into games, camping, kayaking, outdoors
stuff - trust games and so on, and guess what, so too are the kids who
come to us.
It isn't a competition. It is Scotuing and we all do it differently.

That's true. My brother really enjoyed Cubs because they had a weekend
league football team and he was goalkeeper (not the best it has to be
said, I don't think they won a match all season). He left Scouts after
a few weeks because they did not have a team.
Shallow? Maybe, but each to their own.
