Sorry, I still don't know where people find these 'home contacts' - often
over Bank holidays, people who aren't related, probably not at work, carry
lists with them at all times and would be able to receive and make
phone-calls at the drop of a hat.
Am I the only leader who is honest ( and foolish) enough to admit i don't
always manage it?

We have dual HC if we need to, with a changeover point. Or I have used
the ADC/ DC. Never intentionally gone without one in place - but we
have camped, having gone through all the procedure except actually
confirming with the named HC that he would do the job. Turned out he
was away that weekend and couldn't - but nowt happened so all's well
and all that. :-)
