I visited camp on Saturday, there had been a lot rain over theAs a nation we are getting lazier and more people are obese as no one is able to walk any more. It seems that we all have to drive right up to the spot we are camping on to unload.
preceding days and therefore the ground was very soft.
I when got to the site there a lot of muddy ruts caused by people
tearing onto the field and sliding around in their 4x4's and cars.
When I drove onto the same field in my biodiesel powered 4x4 to park
the loaded canoe trailer, I left nothing more that flattened grass.
I can understand that those who are transporting all the heavy equipment and trailers might well want to get as close as possible but those with one YP and a rucksack don't really need to drive to within five feet of where the tent will be even if they do have a 4x4. I would favour no cars on the field without permission and permission would only be granted to those who had good cause. As you say some do not know how to drive responsibly which churns up the field and is also a safety issue so it better that they remain in the car park.
