This was a trolling crosspost, sadly someone with no concept of how
the newsgroups work has taken it that this is a post only on
uk.rec.scouting it isn't,

I am fairly certain that Dave knew exactly what he was doing when he responded above and was making a point about Duncans cross posted complaint. I would also suggest that Dave clearly understood about cross posting which is why he trimmed his comment just to URS even though he probably doesn't read the group as if he is to believed he was reading this on uk.tech.tv.sky I would even hazard a guess that he may well have also quite deliberately used the term Boy Scouts and he did say trim your headers when replying.
