Re: Towing a sailing dinghy behind a Discovery?

<SNIP>
I had considered that (and I'd probably put the mast foot forward, it
being the heaviest end etc). I suppose you just have to watch out when
reversing round corners! ;-(
My brother in law isn't the most confident of drivers / towers
(careful but not confident) so I guess it will be down to him how they
move the boat once I pass it on <sniff>. ;-( [1]
All the best and thanks for the feedback ..
[1] Our Dad bought us the Leader when we were about 16 and used to
take us to the East Coast (Burnham) but mainly on the Norfolk Broads
(where as a family we would stay in a chalet / houseboat and be able
to sail all week). Sister was never really interested. 40 years on and
*we* are doing other things and sister has joined to local sailing
club (inshore) and is really into it big time (hence the interest in
*my* Leader ( my because I have been renting a lockup to store it in
all these years)).
At least it will be where it belongs more often, on the water and *we*
(daughter likes sailing) might actually be able to use it now and then
if sister lets us ;-)

Realistically, anyone towing a Leader with a Disco won't notice the
boat/trailer, unless they catch it on another car when changing lanes!

A friend once told a super story about catching their Wayfarer mast on a
tree when pulling out of their driveway, but isn't that why we insure the
things?!

Now just to find the sail bag ... ;-(

My mainsail is in my hall, and is back on board as of about 08.00 tomorrow
morning.....
