Are American small boat papers of any use in Europe ?that non nationals/residents can only use papers from theirhome country.
Have an American (US Coast Guard) 100 ton Masters license , and have
used it in the States to deliver sailboats; ( I'm a small boat sailor
here ; have a 30 foot sloop in Long Island, New York, waters).
Girlfriend is moving to Spain to keep her EU documents active, and I'm
wondering if my USCG papers would in any way help get me work in Spain .Is
there any notion of reciprocity ? Is there delivery work in the Med or
other use for such papers ? Is there sailing work of any kind in the
Spanish Mediterranean ?
From my limitede experience of charter overseas the requirement usually is
Once you become resident/national then you need localpapers. Thus if your
USCG papers are recognised internationaly theywill be good untlyou become
resident, when youwill need local papers.
