Where can I get a compass that shows me cross-track error?

Ok - so in a no wind, no tide situation, the GPS has it, but
otherwise...

Surely one trims well, notes the compass course (& GPS track) and steers
to the wind - when re-triming is required, one checks the compass (&
GPS) if required, according to the shift.
