Well - since we don't seem to have a thread for this week (maybe Tim
is on holiday or something?), and I want to post my runs before I
forget what I did, I might as well start it...

Bah - and Mary Ann has done it at more or less the same time - so now
we'll end up with two :/

Shoulda posted sooner then! ;-)

Sorry about not starting it off but as a non-running runner at the moment
I'm going to drop out of the group for a while. I hate to be reminded of
all the fun everyone else is having when the same pleasure is denied to me.

Anyone should feel free to start the thread. This is happening over in
rec.running following the rather odd disappearance of the previous regular
initiator of the thread (David). It also makes for a bit of variety in
posting style which can't be a bad thing.

My foot isn't any worse but nor is it any better either and I think it could
be months before I run again. Of course I say that in the sincere hope that
it won't be that long but one of our older club members hasn't run for about
9 months now with the same problem so I'm mentally preparing myself for the
worsecase scenario.

Best of luck in the marathon Paul.

Thats very sad to hear Tim , what we've got here is the dark side to
our running and one I have had before. "What if I _can't_ run" what
then? Nothing can really match it and if you are out thats it. When I
broke my leg 20 yrs ago I resigned myself to not running again ever.
When I returned to it my wife was very concerned and cautioned me
against it. "If you start running and get injured you'll get depressed
and be unbearable". Now of course a few years down the line I've had
a few injuries and been unbearable, I've always got some niggardly
little injury that stops me doing more miles .

I'm left wondering where all this is leading us - and with the
internet to discuss it all the time ( I could spend all day reading
stuff on running) it makes this come down even worse.

My thoughts are with you Tim - you've done more than many so the
downer is worse.
