As far as your BM index is concerned you seem to be in a good shape to
start running. I'm slightly taller and a bit heavier so your BMI is
less than mine and I enjoy a 20+ mile run in the morning.

BMI is a very blunt tool, you are not comparing like with like if you
can run 20+ miles. You will have more lean muscle than Paul so you can
have a higher BMI with a lot less fat. These days waist cirumference at
the hips is added to the calculation to correct for things like that.
