In a fit of bravado and against better judgement I have entered the 10k
"7 Pools run" next Sunday. www.7poolsrun.org.uk it's in the popular
Sutton Park and not the usual 10K route that is used for "The Lung Run
10K" - it goes all through the woods and round by the lakes they have
there. I wanted to find out this country route for future use and this
was the opportunity. But I'm only running for just over 40 minutes and
that was this Wednesday. What on earth led me to enter this ?? I'll
take it easy and promise to use my fists to get the place right at the
back of the field at the start.

I sent it off this afternoon but it didn't really sink in till tonight.
What is wrong with me??

It's the hint of Spring, Spud me mate. For me it's that first hint of
autumn in the air that makes me want to run and run and ...

At the moment I'm thinking 'what have I done?' having mistakenly thought
Spring had sprung here, despite the rain. Unfortunately the wind here
at home is as nothing compared to the teeth of the SEasterly I spent
2.5-3miles running into the teeth of all along the waterfront with no
shelter at all. I was dressed ok for rain, but not wind + including the
chill factor. It was blessed relief to finally turn up the hill.
