Perfectly true. I've been rooting to find more info but it seems that the
WAVA name doesn't exist any longer (their domain wava.org is up for grabs)
and has been renamed as WMA (World Masters Athletics) in July 2001. They
don't seem to have kept the WAVA system going

http://www.world-masters-athletics.org/index.php

at least I couldn't find any reference on their site, or any reference to
updates after 1999.

On another site, this page has a paragraph which sums it up about WAVA
validity
http://www.runningtimes.com/issues/05mar/kick.htm

It says that tables hadn't been updated with recent records (in 2000) and
that ladies in particular had progressed notably. The page mentions that
the "new" (2003) women's WR marathon of 2:29 wasn't taken into account,
yet Paula Radcliffe has come close to 2:15 since then. I expect the same
applies to 10K where she put in a 30:31 in 2003.

So, it looks like the WAVA age-gradings tables and calculators are working
on results from 1999. Not much cop really is it, particularly for ladies
performances?

Here's the page describing the data used to build the online calculator,
