Does anyone have any info on where to find a handset that looks like a
phone, i.e. fire engine/police car style handset? Or even making one
from a old phone if possible?
Made one from an old phone back in the late 80's. Even went as far as the
handset in 'hung up' position fed a speaker in the base so you could hear
the audio and when you picked it up the base speaker cut and the audio was
fed to the hand set (suitably attenuated, so you didn't deafen yourself..)
Handset had a ptt fitted mid way between ear and mouth pieces. Ear piece
'speaker' was removed and an 8 ohm (small size) speaker fitted, Mouthpiece
element replaced with standard mic element from an old mic.

People. You can't live with 'em and it's illegal to hunt them...except in
Texas.
