I am sure that we have all done things that we are less than proud of, it's just that his deeds
were very public.
Earlier this year, there was a documentary about the effect of alcohol. The maximum
recommended intake puts many people in the "heavy drinker" category, although
they would not know it.

I know someone who needs a certain amount of alcohol on a daily basis, just to get
through the day. Working as a security guard, alone, he even slips some cans into
work with him (which could get him sacked).
A couple of years back, he was rushed into hospital with serious problems caused
by his drinking. His parents were told to come and see him, while they could, as he
was not expected to make it. Even now, he is still on medication and should have
regular check-ups at the hospital, but drinks and dodges the appointments.

His whole family go through hell, with the moods and constant fear of what will
happen to him. The hospital have made it clear that, next time, he is unlikely to survive.
In spite of all this, he denies that he is an alcoholic. I believe that he really thinks that
he is in control.

Everyone should have someone remember them when they die. How many and
who depends upon who's lives we touch.
I still remember people who I did not know particularly well, maybe just to talk to, but
who's death surprised or saddened me.

George Best was known to many people and what he really did was not so much
play a game as entertain the crowd. To see him take on a line of 5 defending
players, weave past each, then bang the ball straight past the goalie... that was
entertainment.
I have yet to hear of Scrabble players entertaining crowds with their mental abilities
but, if it happens, I am sure you will be remembered by many.

I'll tell you what, when you die, be sure to let me know so I can remember you :~)

Regards,

Peter.
