I am looking for a good but very basic book about digital photography,
Look for anything of the type you need by Kodak or by John Hedgecoe.
Thanks for that.
I have found a couple of books off my own bat: one of the "for
dummies" series, which I have used for other purposes in the past and
found generally well written and useful, and another one called
"Understanding exposure" by Bryan Peterson.
Any thoughts on those?
I would have recommended the Peterson. Also look for his "Learning to
see creatively," he suggests good habits.

Thank you to AW, Tony, Michael and Chris.
By now, I have ordered the two books I spotted. I am also taking note
of the author you recommend, and will look at his book if the other
two don't suffice me.
Good to hear more good reviews about Peterson.
Thanks again,
