In article <D6nxi.18665$mo.5044@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, nospam3The D200 with firmware revision 2.00 also does this and at a much lower cost. I have been involved with computer forensic work, and, based on the requirements for this, would suggest that a captive setup (recording direct to a PC) with GPS and digital signatures should be acceptable in court. However IANAL, so get legal advice from the jurisdiction where the evidence will be presented before proceeding further. If you would like to discuss in more detail off list then drop me a mail at the address in my .sig.

Ask before you start. A friend does exactly this and the last time I
saw him he said that only pictures taken on film are acceptable for
evidence. You can of course get a data back that dat and time stamps
the picture.
The Nikon D2Xs, which I have, has a facility to authenticate digital
photos that it takes built into the firmware, alongside being able to
take a GPS input feed.
Expensive camera just for that facility, mind :-(
